Hello my friend. I will try to answer at all your questions.
When did you start breeding malinois?
I can tell you that I was grown with birds, especialy with canaries, but I breeding canaries seriously since 1989. year. I started with serious breeding of waterslager canary in 1998. year.
How many birds do you breed every year and how many couples do you use for the breeding?
I breed aroand 100 young birds every year. In my breeding program I use 30 females and 15 males
What is the level of the voices of the malinois in Serbia? How many clubs are there and how many people are occupied with this hobby?
In Serbia now we have some good birds. Some birds are high scored. Generally Serbian waterslagers are medium and some birds are above-average quality level.
It is known that you are an international judge. When did you start judging? Could you tell us a few words about it?
I am Federal judge since 2001. year and OMJ judge since 2005. year. I pass examination for OMJ judge in october 2004. and I am official OMJ judge from World Championship in Germany ( O.M.J. CONGRESS held in Bad Salzuflen-Germany ). Until now I judge at lot of shows. I judge aroand 5-7 shows every year. Until now I judge in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, USA and Greece. Unfortunately due to personal obligation I am unable to accept all invitations as judge. Now I am member of the board of directors and secretary of ASSOCIATIONS OF JUDGES OF SERBIAN ORNITHOLOGICAL FEDERATION ( www.sof.rs ), and I am member of board of examiners.
You have visited our club, OEM. Tell us your opinion about the quality of the greek malinois.
I judge several times in your club OEM and I can say with satisfaction that you have a some high quality birds. Generally I am very satisfied with birds which I judge at your club shows. This is confirmed by the high scores which I gave to some birds in previous year.
Describe to us the ideal singing of a malinois.
First I must say that the perfect is not from this world. But, waterslager canary must sing clear, slowly and deep, especially water toer. On the other side you have staaltonen and bellen, and that tones birds must sing stronger then water toer. Becouse of that it is very difficult to produce high quality birds. Ideal waterslager canary must sing all toer. Water toer they must sing slowly and deeply as possible. Staaltonen should sing more and more powerful. Song must be clear and well packed without any high, sharp and nasal tone, or any undesirable tones. Water toer, especially klok and bol must prevail in song.
Would you like to add anything about malinois?
Breeding of malinois waterslage canary is a great hobby, and also a great challenge. Also very important for me in this hobby is that I gained a worldwide lot of great friends. From your club I must mention two great friend, Palatos Panagiotis and Andreas Panopoulos.
